SEC installation using VM images

A SEC installation using VM images is a deployment method that

  • forwards events from ASA and FTD to the Cisco cloud so that you can view them in the Event Logging page in Security Cloud Control

  • allows installation of multiple Secure Event Connectors on your tenant to direct events from your ASAs and FDM-managed devices to any of the SECs you install, and

  • enables distribution of event forwarding work across different regions by having SECs installed in different locations.

Installation process requirements

Installing multiple SECs using your own VM image requires completion of these steps:

  1. Install a Security Cloud Control Connector to Support an SEC Using Your VM Image

  2. Configure additional settings for SDCs and Security Cloud Control Connectors installed on a VM you created

  3. Install the Secure Event Connector

Using a Security Cloud Control VM image for the Security Cloud Control Connector is the easiest, most accurate, and preferred method of installing a Security Cloud Control connector. If you want to use that method, see Installing an SEC using a Security Cloud Control image.
